Building Better Business Book Club

Reading, sharing insights, getting recommendations, staying informed.

About The Book Club

Like most book groups, one aim of the Building Better Business Book Club is for members to read this months featured book and then “meet” (in a zoom call, or sometimes face to face) to discuss the key points, what we have learned, what insights we have had, and how that can be applied in the real world, in our businesses.

There’s no commitment to read the monthly book, nor to buy any of them, just an opportunity to participate when the time, and the book chosen is right for you.

The book club will focus on business related books in a broad sense, so we may cover aspects of running a business, or leadership, or self development, or practical business skills, and so on. That’s for the members to decide. Any member can suggest a book to read and then we will decide which ones to read next.

The best moments in reading are when you come across something – a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things – which you had thought special and particular to you. Now here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out and taken yours.

How does the book club work?

  • Each month the book club members suggest a book to read during the next month.
  • All the books will be available in the book club store which provides links to buy the books on Amazon, either as physical books or in digital versions. (We also include all previously featured books in our store for as long as they remain available and other books that have been recommended by members). The store is here…
  • We will have a shared conversation, usually on Zoom, and when there is demand, face to face, to discuss the currently featured book for an hour. You can join these calls as a participant. or just to listen in. These discussions often unlock new insights and give participants a chance to explore the topics in practical contexts. Email invitations will be sent out to members in advance.
  • You can leave a review for any of the books in our store. We welcome that because it helps others to find books that may help them, and helps you to find the books you need based on others review.
  • There is a private group on Facebook which members are eligible to join. You will be sent details on joining. During each month there will be discussions about the featured book in that group, and other conversations between members.
